“Since” is a very useful and pleasant application to display the elapsed time from an event and distance.
“Since” can display distance and the lapsed time from the locations where a certain event was held. “Since” has a function to store notes and photos. That function is suitable for various information management. You may utilize “Since” as an opposite way, it will tell you information (i.e., remaining time, location) about your future event when you added plan to event.

There is an “Add” button (+) on the top-right for adding a new event, addition to that, there is a “Camera+” button on the screen at the bottom center. That Button is very convenient;
1) When it’s on, a camera function of iPhone starts, then after having taken a photograph, you can add it to a new event easily.
2) In some situations, it takes several tens of seconds iPhone to obtain the location information. So it’s better to keep GPS on, before taking photo. While you’re taking a photo, “Since” will update more precise location information.
3) By setting, the GPS function will be turned on when you push the “Camera+” button automatically.
Features:
- display the elapsed time from an event
-A location records automatically with accuracy to the addition of the event when GPS function is on (*)
- “Auto Best Location” function provides better precise location information updating as possible (**)
- GPS button for on and off. In addition, by setting, GPS will work on at start-up application automatically
- can display linear distance from the present location to the place of the event
- can select a kilometer unit or a mile unit
- can display the location of the event on a map with your iPhone (standard application is mounted).
- can add notes to an event
- can add photographs to an event. Able to swipe the photographs in sequence.
- By setting, a full-sized photo that you took can be stored to the Camera Roll too.
- can add the future event
- can search events
There is such a practical use method:
* At the beauty salon, you can know the days since your last haircut. You could show photos to the hairdresser about last hairstyle.
* Remaining personal pleasant memories, i.e., traveling, a holiday making, etc.
* When you parked a car at a large parking lot, very easy to find where the parked location was on a map of your iPhone.
* When you go for shopping from the home, and by adding to an event about a shop, a post office, wherever you go, you may know the elapsed time and distance from your home.
* When you found something interesting, and by adding to an event with taking photos, later on, you may look the photographs and/or display the location on a map of your iPhone.
In addition
* For the growth record of the child
* For a record of the learning
* When you stopped a car in the parking lot
* For the record that ate a delicious foods
* For a record of gardening
* To an attendant of the maintenance of the car
* To search the expiration date of the vegetables in refrigerator
* To search an elapsed time after you paint the wall
* To the attendant of the health care
* taking a memo when an idea flashed
* Etc…
(*) “Since” cannot appoint the location value of the place by manual operation.
(**) If iPhone cannot obtain location information, the location value might not be recorded accurately.

Hello – this sounds like a great application. question – is there a way to get the information into your mac? it is good to have it on the phone but eventually i’ll want to have it on my machine.
thank you

Thanks for posting! Unfortunately, we have no Mac-based “Since” application. “Since” for iPhone can e-mail one event with picture, but I think you expect the event-list maybe.
We’re planning to add a feature that “Since” sends e-mail a text-based or html-based filtered event-list, that’ll make you to see the part of event-list you wanted via e-mail.
However, it’s currently under construction, your patience would be helpful, thank you!

Hello!
I have 2 questions:
- does the app always show “days” on it’s counters, or after longer time does it switch to months, years, etc?
- (*) “Since” cannot appoint the location value of the place by manual operation. Is it something you work on? It would be great if we could “move the pin” manually, sometimes GPS is of no use, esp. indoors, it would be great if we could edit the GPS coordinates later.
Thanks!

Thanks for the comment, missuna!
“SInce” shows “days” always on the item, because a year means not always 365 days. So “Since” based on “day”.
The manual location function, as you say, is on my development TODO list. I’m trying to add that function to “Since”. I’d like to release as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hi and thanks for answering (please disregard the comment about dissapearing questions, obviously there was some malfunction).
Great to hear that manual location feature is in the works!
About “days” though – would you consider changing it so it displays whatever the user configures it to show? Days, months, years etc?
It’s great as it is, I suppose, but some events dating really, really way back become less identifiable, if you know what I mean. If I met my wife 5y 3m 23hrs ago I can easily tell exactly how much time has passed, “1917″ days ago is not really indicative in the same way. Your app looks like a perfect choice for me, but this little thing still troubles me.
Best regards

Thanks for the posting, missuna !
Okay, I think you’re right!!! I agree with you.
I will consider it and would like to implement it.
I hope you to visit this site again, because I’ll post a comment if I have a question about it.
For instance, if there is an event at 15-dec-2009 15:00 and current date is 22-jan-2010 16:00:00, it takes 38 days and one hour. In this case, how should this app show it? 1m 7d and 1 hour, right?
Thanks for the great idea, missuna!

Hey!
Yes, I will be coming back here regularly.
And yes, the app could show the event you mentioned as happening “1m 7d 1h” ago. Or maybe “0y 1m 7d 1h” ? Maybe even let user configure how detailed the view should be – I guess the older the event, the less we care about “hours”.
I think the app should take into account how many calendar days there are in specific months and years so the calculations are correct.
If you wish to do so, check out the free iTimer app by iBearsoft and see how it’s done there. They even let assign a little photo to an event, which looks cool – you might consider adding that too one day.
I also think event categories could be useful in your app – after some time, when a user amasses lots of events, it could be good to have them grouped in categories.
Thanks for your continuing support!

Thanks for many nice hints for me, missuna !
> I guess the older the event, the less we care about “hours”.
agree, there is a small display area so we have to omit some part. Now, I’ll think deeply.
“Category” is also on my TODO, but it’ll take longer time. However the feature will be added in the near future.
Now let’s get started. Thanks a lot.

Great!
I have two closing suggestions for you to consider:
- backup! Ability to backup the entire event database would be useful
- email/export of photos, their gps location and descriptions compatible with Google Picasa, Flickr, etc.
Well, I guess that’s it, no more ideas at the moment

missuna, I’m sorry to keep you waiting.
“Since” updates have been proceeding now.
1) Elapsed time toggle display (HH:MM:SS, y-m-d): can be changed by tapping elapsed time display area (events that passed over a month)
2) Manual location edit feature
3) e-mail search result feature
The next version of “Since” will be featured above three features. I’ve been working arround them. New version may be released within a month as soon as possible. Your patience would be helpful.
Thanks a lot for your great assistance!

Thanks for the comment, John.
When you sync with iTunes, Since data will be backuped to you PC automatically. If you restore your iPhone with iTunes, Since data (event list / phtos) will be restored.
I want to say thank you for purchasing Since app!

I am having problems with finding the app. I downloaded it quiet a while ago and used it on a regular basis. I noticed it was missing off my iphone and now I cannot reload it. When I go to the app store it says “downloaded” but when I check it off on my itunes it says the app “Since” was not installed on the iphone “Vonny iphone” because the app could not be found. What does this mean and how can I get “Since” reinstalled on my computer. I love this App.

I would love the app even more if it was universal (or if there was an since HD for iPad) with Dropbox support for syncing
. Any plans to do so?
